East Belfast:
Dundonald Station Closed To The Public
As of the 27th October 2008 the police station on the Upper Newtownards Road at Dundonald will no longer be open to the public, as the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) closes the doors on its public enquiry office.
The PSNI outlined the changes arguing
that the move was aimed at freeing up more officers for frontline duties across its
catchment area of Castlereagh, Carryduff and Dundonald.
In a statement the PSNI advised people that they could still call into
'nearby' stations such as Castlereagh or Ards and reiterated the numbers for
emergency (999) and non-emergency (0845 600 8000) calls.
You decide, is the change of Dundonald
(East Belfast ) to a non-reporting police station, a crime?
