A
Fearless Stand For Jesus In the Face of the Enemy
Corrie Ten Boom was the fist licensed woman watch maker in Holland.
She became famous for her humanity as she and her family hide Jews during the Second World Wars
as Hilter tried to implement the final solution aimed at their annihilation.
A man approached them and begged them to assist his wife who was in
prison. He said that for six hundred guilders a corrupt guard would get
her out. Corrie told him to come back in one hour and in the mean time
she gathered the money from her friends. With joy in her heart she gave
the money to the man, however later Corrie and her family were arrested.
Whilst in Ravensbrook , aWomen's Concentration Camp, she discovered that
this man she had helped, was her betrayer. After the war, this man was
sentenced to death for aiding the deaths of many Dutch Citizens. Corrie
wrote to him in prison, detailing how his actions had caused the death
of her family members and caused extreme pain and hardship to other
family members and herself. She told him in no uncertain terms, that
Jesus Christ had paid for his sins and that She had already forgiven
him. Corrie, had enclosed a Bible, highlighting the passages, which
would lead him to Christ. This man was saved and sent Corrie a letter,
before he was executed, telling Corrie of his salvation.
Corrie often asked people are YOU a Christian, most replied I go to
church, to which Corrie would respond, 'a mouse born in a biscuit tin is
not yet a biscuit'. She believed that the greatest danger to this world,
was not communism but a powerless church, and Corrie would tirelessly
encourage people to seek Jesus.
Corrie's greatest reward is in Heaven, but she was also rewarded for
her Great work whilst on earth, she was Knighted by the Queen of
the Netherlands, and awarded Israels Highest Civilian Award.
Corrie's best known books include: 'The Hiding Place' and a biography
called 'Corrie Ten Boom: Her Life, Her Faith'. After the war Corrie traveled
extensively telling other of her life and her God. Some of these talks
are listed below.
