Mount Stewart is situated between Newtownards and Grey Abbey in County Down, Northern Ireland. As a tourist day trip it is ideal and within a half hour's travel of Belfast City.
Visitors to Mount Stewart can not only visit the picturesque gardens but can avail of a guided tour of Mount Stewart House itself. Although as the Lady of the House still lives there, not all rooms are open to the public. The property is managed by the National Trust who charge an admission fee to both house and gardens, but it's well worth a visit.
